Do I need a License Agreement?

Post by StarHarper »

I'll be selling my screensavers. Do I really need to add a license agreement to it - and what should it say?.

It there anything else legal I need to add?

And another thing...what wording should I put on the CD label about installation?

Well, it is recommended that you have an agreement, though it is not mandatory. If you have no agreement, you may loose some of your rights under law.

You should add information that you own the copyrights, this will inform others that the screensaver is copyrighted by you.

The CD label is up to you. You may include some instructions or simply add a nice artwork.

Do you have some sample text I could build from?

Due to the nature of such documents, we do not have a sample text that would be good for all, but you may look at the terms that other software vendors use in their agreements.
