Weirdness on "Save As.." with WeBuilder 2006

Post by Mistraal »

WeBuilder 2006 Version 7.4.0.70

I don't know if anybody else has experienced this but I seem to be encountering "weirdness" (for use of a better word), when saving .php files using "Save As ..".

The .php files in question were originally created as type "UTF-8 Without BOM" but when I choose "Save As ... " to overwrite them it does not automatically determine that these .php files are indeed UTF-8, but decides they are .htm files with ANSI encoding. Once saved as UTF-8 in a session they stay as UTF-8, but as soon as I close and reopen WeBuilder they appear as ANSI again. When I say "appear" I mean the values that are preselected in the drop down boxes.

Obviously doubts have now arisen as to whether or not the files ARE in fact UTF-8 (which has lead to me using "Save As..." instead of "Save" in order to double check).

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a fix? Or a patch in the works?

Regards,

Hi,

I have nearly the same problem ... and posted it a few hours before your post ;) But I only had this experience with my xml files opened via build-in ftp. I think that's quite the same thing and I think it's good that somebody else mentioned the problem of the file encoding.
