testing WB 2007

Post by erikh »

So far I LIKE what I see, I do like the built in server, and unless I miss my guess there is going to be on for eruby as well? I'd love to see WB play nice with Coldfusion. I have a question though: Exactly how is xray supposed to work? I preview a page (built in with IE) and I can click and get a box around the element. But when I go and do a split screen it does nothing. This will be an awesome feature, any news on more? You've got yourself another winner and a long time customer. Don't stop rockin'!

The xray should woth the same way in split-screen as it does in full-screen, however please note that if you switch to split-screen, you have to re-enable xray.

As for the coldfusion and rupy, the coldfusion is currently not planned, however a better ruby support is planned.

I code in CF in webuilder all the time. Since it doesn't support it, it sort of does highlight it - in red! works for me... it gets confused occasionally when there are a number of quotes within some if/else switching but other than that, it works pretty well for me.

That said, seems like basic CF support (just tag highlighting) would only be a couple days work and a nice popular name to stick on the front of the package. the list of available tags appears to be relatively short: http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/6/ ... s-pt06.htm

That would be cool just remember that CF 8: Scorpio is coming out. I beta test for it (and the new Fireworks as well...nice to have on my "look at me" list) so I'd love ot see at least support for 7 as that is truly well done.

Hi Karlis! I do I do!!!!!! I also use php. Whatever gets the job done. I like CF because to get things done fast it is very very good. I actually had the chance to be at a talk given by Ben Forta and got my CF6 book (yep the huge one) signed. I would love to see cf supported

I think it's still really popular. it might be going down but my shop (about 45 people) is pretty evenly half .NET and half .CF as far as app and cms development goes.

plus, there is still tons and tons of old code out there to be maintained. :)

I would like to request ColdFusion Support as well. With the death of homesite / CF Studio, and the advent of an eclipse pluggin, I think a lot of people are looking for a replacement. This could be it.

Thanks,

G
