W3C Standards?

Post by rickbates »

I just purchased WeBuilder and noticed that some of the html tags do not comply with W3C standard html. For example, the bold tag insterts <b > instead of <strong>. I switched from HomeSite which was pretty good in this area. Is this something I can configure? I am using ver 8.0.0.74.

Hi, Under options/preferences/language options/html you can specify the options that you are asking for.

Yes! Thanks for the tip. For some reason when I do that I get an error dialog, Failed to set data for ''

It looks like the changed settings take, but I can't figure out why I get that alert.

Hi Rick,

you might try reinstalling. I just tried it and turning it on and off doesn't create an error here.

Also, for valid markup in general, make sure you're using a strict doctype as webuilder is magic and inserts things in a certain way depending on the doctype. amazing. :)

welcome aboard,
will
