Webuilder 2006/2007 - Bug: Filename inserted in source code

Post by pmmueller »

I cannot seem to find this bug described in the forum, so here's a report:

Sometimes the name of the currently edited file is inserted somewhere in the source code.

I cannot detect a pattern or anything, but when I get parse errors in PHP this sometimes is due to a filename in the source that I definitely did not put there myself ;)

This behaviour already occured in Webuilder 2006 (V7.4 I think) and still exists in 2007 (V8.0.0.75). I am on WinXP SP2.

This is most likely due to double-clicking to open file in File Explorer and not managing to release mouse button when moving mouse back over the editor. What happens is a drag & drop operation by dragging the filename to itself. It could depend on your reaction and on mouse as well.

Solution is to launch files from File Explorer a bit more carefully.

Thanx for the quick answer, and I'll try ;)
I indeed have the File Explorer open on the right side, using mainly the "Project" tab to open and upload files.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who does this. ;) It's exactly as karlis describes, at least for me.

Yes, for me too. It happened once in the past two days, and it definitely had to do with opening the file from the file explorer. I guess it's not really a "bug", but I never would have thought that there is such a simple solution. "Maybe I click too fast ... " ;)
