comments and syntax highlighting

Post by parcley »

seriously, this is killing me.

when i comment out a line in php and the ending '?>' is on the same line as the comment it's also commented out and the syntax highlighting goes crazy.

when i comment out html and php using the html comments "<blah>" the highlighting stops the comment at any '>' character and the syntax highlighting goes crazy

this interferes with my work numerous times a day and i would love to see it addressed in the next update.

thanks for a program i couldn't' do my work without karlis.

You can actually edit the syntax highlighting scripts on your own to adjust them to your own needs. Some regular expression skills are required.

Options -> Preferences -> Text Editor -> Colors -> Advanced Tools -> Custom Highlighter Scripts.

Unfortunately there are no docs at the time, but you can figure out the system by example.

Hi Karlis. Nice to see this option but unfortunately, the XS files looks like ancient Chinese for me.

Anyway, I'll take a look and try to understand this.

But I like to add my vote to this option.

Maybe some person who has advanced regular expressions skills can help.

The same happens with the ASP syntax highlighting.

Comment out a line with the %> at the end then the highlighting is wrong.

I have added this to our todo with medium priority. Let's hope we will manage it soon.
