HTMLPad not displaying HTML file

Post by thorsten »

I've got a generated HTML file that contains non ASCII characters. The charset is declared and the file displays fine in Opera, IE and Firefox.

When I open this file in HTMLPad it displays only the lines up to the first non ASCII character. There is no error or anything - HTMLPad simply seems to think that the file has EOF there.

What's wrong?

Hm, this file (that is generated from an Active Directory LDAP dump) contains \0 characters and HTMLPad thinks this is EOF (which it is not). Is this a known bug?!

You are the first person in tens of thousands who has #0 characters in a text file. To be true we have not even tested this, because normally nobody has #0 chars in a text tile.

Please send us a sample file to software[at]latnet.lv
