Keyboard Characters Transposed

Post by jerm »

I suddenly have an odd problem with keyboard characters in Rapid PHP.

Yesterday, everything was fine, but today I discovered that when I press SHIFT + DOUBLE QUOTE I get the "at" symbol instead (and vice-versa). Similarly, when I press the hash key, I get a forward slash. Other characters also are transposed. I am using the UK keyboard layout and this transposition occurs only in the Rapid PHP editor - when I use any other program, the keys produce the correct characters.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re my previous post. I've just closed and re-opened Rapid PHP and everything is back to normal! I'd still like to know why it happened though.

In international keyboards (at list the spanish-latinamerican one) that is the AT sign key. You probably change the keyboard layout (ALT-LEFT SHIFT) to another language.

To verify if you have different keyboards, you can use the keyboard icon in your control panel

Yes, it's quite possible that I did inadvertently use some key combination that changed the keyboard settings.
