SCP / SFTP integration

Post by mwolstenholme »

More and more hosts use SSH in preference to FTP.

Will SCP/SFTP support be added to RapidPHP - or is best to setup a connection using PuTTY and transfer as FTP over the secure tunnel?

Currently we have no plans for including SFTP support due to lack of technical solution (we need solid 3rd party component that does SFTP), however I believe that in the future we'll find a solution.

Any solutions to this yet? It would be nice to be able to open files from a side bar ssh session rather than having to run to apps... currently using WinSCP just to open up the files in WeBuilder to edit them...

We do plan to allow SFTP in the next release, but I would not promise it yet.

No hurry... I saw this in this post (http://forums.blumentals.net/viewtopic.php?t=1138) I plan to take a look at them both...

Thanks Karlis...

We will try to add SFTP support in the next major version!

AND completely re-built FTP support, because some users still encounter problems with our existing FTP features.
