FTP Publish connection (8.2.0.79)

Post by webflow »

Hello

With Rapid PHP you can publish your files by FTP.

In the help you need to click the icon "save file to ftp" and select your connection. Then you have to click the "save button".

Now I've installed a shortcut that directly opens the connection view. Is there a way that the connections stays active during the use of the program. I mean, I press a shortcut for example Ctr+U (upload) and the file goes directly to the FTP, without the step where you need to select the connection.

I suppose it is possible, but I don't find it.

Thx

From the help:
Save file to FTP
To quickly save a file that has been open form FTP server, click Save on the toolbar.

To save new or local file to FTP server

On the File menu, click Save to FTP.
In the FTP Browser dialog box from Sites list select an FTP site or click New Site on the toolbar to add new FTP site.
When your FTP site is listed and selected, click Connect on the toolbar.
In the file name box type a name for your file. Include extension (e.g. .htm) in the file name.
Click Save.
Note

If connection to FTP site can not be established, please, make sure that you have entered correct properties for your FTP site and that internet connection is present and FTP server is up and running.

I found the solution:

there is a way to do this with the button: save and publish to ftp, then he saves the local file and also publish it to the ftp server

I think that's the way, any other suggestions?

If you a) have defined a project b) need to save both local file AND publish the changes then YES this is the best.

If you, however need to open a file from FTP and save it back to FTP, simply hit Save and it will save (overwrite the original).
