HOMESITE like behaniour of "tag-control"-windows

Post by Gorky »

HI,
in Homesite I can right-click any tag ang get an "Edit current tag" in the context menu, which opens the Tag-control-window with the last settings, e.g. I can reopen the imagetag-control-window filled up with the current select image (with current selected image-size, alignment and so on) and make my corrections.

I found nothing similiar in WE-Builder - or have I overseen this? If I have not overseen this, can this be added in the upcoming new version???

regards

I will second that - I really miss that feature from Homesite. I like the way the v.8 beta allows you to 'Update img size' by right clicking an img tag so your making steps toward it already.

You know what, I never realised it was there before! I just went back to v.2006 and lo and behold, it's there! D'oh!

Yes, right-click tag editing is still in the to-do, we did not have enough time to implement it... will try in the future.

right-click tag editing

Post by Gorky »

Hi Karlis,
I am now working with webuilder a few months - the software is *very* fine, only a few things missing,
one is right-click tag editing like in homesite

any chances to get these feature in the near future?

another feature that would be awsome is javascript debugging (e.g. similar to aptana) ...

Tag-control-windows

Post by ouzo »

Hi,

I am a new user of Rapid PHP, but I only use it for PHP-Files. I am missing the Tag-control-windows from homesite very much, so I still use homesite for HTML Files.

Please take the time to implement this. This is the key feature of homesite.

Please make a better homesite !

I agree!

I am so close to removing Homesite and using WeBuilder from now on. Having this feature would be all I needed to say goodbye to Homesite! :D

I've never used homesite so I'm not sure I get it. Out of curiosity, what is it doing that you can't just do in the text directly?

Nothing, but do you know all attributes of all Tags ? I am not, so its helps a lot to have a dialog with all options inside and you allways have the right syntax. And at last, it is faster to click some attributes together then writing it.

yes! :)

ok, no. But when you start typing a tag in webuilder, the autocomplete list comes up with exactly that - any available attribute. you can click them. :)

Syrupcore,
unfortunately Homesite seems to be no longer develeped - but if you are *really* curious goto to http://www.adobe.com/products/homesite/ and download the 30-day free trial and just try yourself - dont believe my words!! In my humble opinion nothing as cool and comfortable - wether webuilder, topstyle nor any other html-editor....
As I am working with webuilder (great product!!) it would be great to have these extreme cool feature in the toolbox of webuilder. It is really a lot more than simple autocomplete ..

This is still in the to-do list, maybe in version 2008 we can add support for basic tag editing (e.g. A, IMG), but I can not promise, the plans are still blurry.

Hello Karlis,

thanks that really would be great :) I think only people , who have ever worked with homesite, know what a great feature (timesaver and productivity booster) it is. If Homesite would still be developement, I perhaps would not have switched to Webbuilder
