preview of *.tpl files

Post by joblo »

I'm using HTML-code-snippets as php-templates with the extension *.tpl (similar to Smarty).
I have added the extension as html-documenttype. So I can edit this type like html, but I can't preview, because the document is always shown as plain text.

How can I change this behavior?

thanks for help

Did you create a new Project for this? If so, did you add .tpl to the "Files of Type:"? I'm not sure this will do the trick, but it's something to try if you haven't already.

Many thanks for your response.
I've tried to add *.tpl to the "Files of Type", but it doesn't help.

It's the problem of the extension. IE always show's *.tpl files as plain text.
In Alleycode, a free HTML-editor, the extension of the temporary file for the preview is changed to "html", so that it's no problem to work with tpl-files.

So this would be my first feature request for the next upgrade.

You should either add the tpl to the HTML file types or to the PHP file types in Preferences.

I've added tpl to the html-documenttype as told in my first request.
It didn't work.

Now I've added the tpl extension as php-documenttype and the preview is now correct :-)

Best regards
