Post by gebi84 »

When i edit a template file (HTML-Mode) in my Editor i get often an error:
Access violation at address 005919AB in module 'rapidphp.exe'. Read of address 03AE0001.

I can't work so! I think i change back to my old ide. I miss too many features and find too many bugs in this programm!

Unfortunately our program is not bug-free. We can not guarantee this. I think, nobody can.
However, latest update was released quite a while ago and I can not recall anybody else claiming that he would have similar problems.
So, this must be either something specific with your PC or either something specific you are doing.
Can you tell me what are you doing, and have you noticed some pattern of things you do before this happens? Maybe you are able to tell us the steps we need to take to reproduce this. Thanks!

As for the missing features. You are welcome to post your ideas in feature requests. All ideas are considered, and because we are working on the new release at the moment, there is a good chance that good ideas will be available very soon.

Thats what this forum is for. If no-one mentions them, how can they get solved? The bugs you find might be easily solved, so let us know what they are!

It would really really help, if you would state:

- the version of RapidPHP you use
- what OS do you use

Btw., I get no such errors on WB 8.2, Windows Vista.

Rarely, but I get the same error message.
It occurs when I'm selecting some lines, but I wasn't able to find out how to reproduce it or to find exactly what in the selection cause it (once in a while, when I'm selecting with the mouse some lines I get this message).

Anyway, I'm always able to save my work before closing and reopening the application.
Closing and reopening is the only thing you can do in that situation, otherwise the error shows up continuously every time you click on the code window.
You can click outside the code window and that's why you can safely save your work and close the application.

I use RapidPHP 8.1 on win XP sp2

bye

Maybe this only happens on your PC? Can not reproduce any of it.

I have seen similar errors

Post by fuzzylogic »

when I first set up RapidPHP and WeBuilder (I saw this error in both)
version is 8.3.0.80

it asks where to save temproary web pages. I gave it a path of where I wanted to put them. but the UI does not provide a way to create the folder.

I forgot to create the folder later.

and then I see many GPF error messages. Finally I remember to create the folder and the errors go away.

People need to make sure they have defined a valid path.

The editor ought to prompt if the path does not exist when it tries to run.
The UI should provide the ability to create the folder.

And ALSO --- I don't understand that you make a single global temp folder which MUST be accessible from the web server, while at the same time each project defines a different document root. Seems to me you need a temp folder for each project??? or is the editor smart enough to use a document root specifically for the temp folder, in which case there should probably be a way to specify it.

I think it is better for the temp preview folder to have it's own completely separate location and document root. that way it is not affected by different projects and it is not necessary to create an extra location for this within a project, because it is just clutter for the project.

Also Experienced This Problem

I have also received an access violation error message three or so times:

WeBuilder 2007 Version 8.3.0.80 (evaluation)
Windows 2000

While annoying, the most frustrating thing for me is since I am using the evaluation version, I am burning one of my 30 uses each time I have to restart because of this.

Is there any chance I can receive some more uses of my evaluation version?

I get this error constantly, and it drives me crazy. It always happens when selecting lines. Using the latest WeBuilder, WinXP Pro.

When we release 2008 beta, we will include error reporting and debugging tool, so you will be able to report this right away and we will know what it is. Hold on, please, for a while.

Hi Guys,

I did used to get the Access Violation problem a lot, but it's been quite rare after one of the updates a while ago.

But I am getting it a lot more often again after the latest update to 8.31

Had it twice this morning, both times after tabbing away from WeBuilder to another application, then back again.
Had to exit WeBuilder both times as the error was consistently coming back.

Just thought I'd say you guys are doing a great job and I'm glad I found your software. Looking forward to helping with bug reports as time continues, and I'll be sure to reference friends your direction.
