Preview issue!!

Post by CDS »

Hi,

I saw a post regarding the "Prev~.htm" issue and I suffer from the same "bug". I do exactly as you did, open a file, edit it, and then it creates a file "Prev1~.htm" that increases by 1, 2 etc.

Can anybody help me? Please respond, I cannot find a solution to this and I find it quite annoying. I have unchecked everything regarding "Preview" in the "Preferences" option panel also.

I use the latest version of WeBuilder 2007 (8.31).

Regards,

Is it an HTML file or CSS file? Did you click the Preview or something?

Preview issue!

Post by CDS »

Hi,

Here is what I'm doing. I have a site as a 'Project'. When I open and edit a CSS file, after I hit the save button it takes a few seconds for WeBuilder to create a 'prev~.html' -file. Since this procedure slows down the hole programming phase (weBuilder flickers a bit) it would be helpful to shut down this "feature".

I really hope you have a solution for this, since I really like this editor. The best in fact.

The only way the file is created is if you preview the css file. If you don't preview it you should have no problems.

Hi,

As I hit the save icon (nothing else) the preview file 'prev~.htm' increases by 1 ('prev1~.htm, prev2~.htm and so on).

I've read earlier that someone experienced similar "bugs"?!

Karlis or anybody, do you have a clue what this could be?

Very strange, I specifically remember that this was changed, so there should be no problems now. Anyway, will try to update with v2008.

p.s. note that temp files are deleted as you close the file being edited, so there should be no ghost files left anyway

Hi.

As your newest member, I have the same problem with WeBuilder. When will 2008 be out?

Hi,
Some time ago I did write a 'prevKiller' program which deleted these files. They causes issues for some users, although they do get deleted.

I've changed my site around, so the previous link on this site might be dead, but it can be downloaded from here:
http://www.creapsoft.co.uk/downloads/prevKiller_setup

I think it might need updating though! ;)
