SFTP Support & FTP Improvements

Post by wahh »

Do you think it's possible to add SFTP support? Also, would it be possible to download entire folders from the web server? Currently you can only get files.

Thanks for the excellent product. Keep up the wonderful work guys!

Just thought I'd throw in my support for this feature as well. SFTP is a fairly big concern for me.

Thanks!

I know this thread is very old, but I find myself needing sftp also.

I am thinking of switching to a host that only supports sftp so I need to make some decisions based on the ETA of this feature... can you give me any idea?

Thanks!

Alright, I just read a bunch of other threads on SFTP so thought I would add that I'm not even remotely willing to give up my favorite development tool just so I can use this new hosting company... they can either give me FTP access for the time being OR they can loose my business.

Blumentals Software, on the other hand, is in no danger of loosing my business... quiet the contrary, actually, as I am planning to upgrade from HTMLPad to WebBuilder within the next 30 days.

Thanks for all your hard work on such fantastic, cost-effective products!!

If you need SFTP support today, you might want to check out SFTPDrive (http://www.sftpdrive.com). Works fine with WeBuilder. Another product that may help (but I've not used) is WebDrive (http://www.webdrive.com/products/webdrive/index.html).

I thought I posted this before, but I must have forgotten to press the 'Submit' button.

We will try to add SFTP support in the next major version!

AND completely re-built FTP support, because some users still encounter problems with our existing FTP features.

Hi Karlis

Love everything about this product but I cant see upgrading to 2011 without this feature.
Many of my sites are confidential financials in a datacenter so I really would like to have this security.
At this point with sensitive sites I have to use other ftp methods and mentally keep track of synchronization.

Best Regards
