Upgrade from 2005 2006

Post by scandog »

Hi

I just upgraded from 2005 to 2006 of webuilder, and I messed up. I uninstalled 2005 before I ran the conversion tool. I reinstalled version 2005 and then ran the conversion tool. I stil have my layouts that I have saved but I have lost all my projects around 25 or more.

Please tell me that there is a way to get them back. I will take me hour to add them all again. Ftp passwords and logins etc.

If any one can help I would be most greatful.

What operating system? If you've XP, you might be able to do a system restore, but this may restore other settings back to the same point.

Otherwise you're stuffed.

On the bright side, WeBuilder 2006 has an 'Export settings' function, so this shouldn't happen again...

The update sequence was posted in forums and here as well:

I guess the "do not uninstall previous version" should have been written in bold red.

When you uninstall any version, the uninstaller wipes out any settings, so you should never do it if you want to keep settings.
