Preview from root directory

Post by avo »

Hi

Can anyone help me out here please

ok if i map my remote server within a directory my preview works fine

FTP::mywebaddress\/downloads/|

but i can not get it to map my root directory ive tried

FTP::mywebaddress\/|
FTP::mywebaddress|
FTP::mywebaddress

but when i load a file from my server and try and preview it it asks me to config my mapping but most the work i do is using a root folder and not a folder within the root (which works ok)

how can i get this to work

Thanks in advance.

It would be best to preview your files locally as it is much easier. If you do want to use FTP, you must be very careful and configure everything very precisely.

So what you are saying, if you map FTP subdirectory to the corresponding local subdirectory, it works? Usually FTP accounts have root folder for the whole website and it is called either public_html or html, if you do not have one big folder on your FTP that acts as web root, your mapping should be FTP::mywebaddress\/|

Has anyone had any experiences with this? It seems to work fine for me.
