Happy Camper: Dual Monitors working great with HTMLPad 2006

Post by websquad »

My search of the archives didn't find this exact situation, so here goes:

Dual 19" monitors
HTMLPad 2006
UltraMon multiple-monitor utility

Opened HTMLPad 2006, loaded in some HTML I was having a problem with, set it to "Split Screen Vertical", click on the UltraMon title bar icon to "Maximize to desktop" -- HTMLPad then spanned both monitors.

Bottom Line: All the source code in the left monitor (#1) and all the web page in the right monitor (#2).

Works great! I'm a happy camper! 8)

Hey thats a nifty tip. I just tried it with RapidPHP and it works there too. :)

Thanks

Sorry for reviving an old topic but, I sort of have the same setup, only I'm working on a notebook with an external monitor on the left site. Is it possible to have the preview on the left side and the source code on the right side? If not, I suppose I can just reorganise my desk a little ... :)

Go for it !!

Dragn, I've only tried this with two identical monitors side-by-side. Having said that, it costs nothing but a few minutes of time to try it. Since my #2 monitor has the rendered web page and my #1 monitor has the HTML, there is no 1-to-1 correlation (in the vertical dimension) between sides.

Your external monitor is on the left side. It is #2, and will have the preview window; the #1 monitor is your laptop, and will have your code (I suppose that is best anyway, because you may want your code just over the keyboard).

Disclaimer: I have HTMLPad2006; if you have 2007, your mileage may vary. But I still suspect you have the ability to adjust the size of the two windows by using your mouse. Gosh, this takes longer to type than to do. LOL !!

Give it a try !! 8)

Not sure I got that :) I wanted the source code on my notebook yes, but I couldn't do that since there doesn't seem to be an option that switches windows in the vertical split view. I changed the settings so that vista thinks the external monitor is on the right side now though. The only problem is that I have to move the mouse to the right to access the screen on the left, but I can get used to that. Thx for your help!
