Selection changes, if home key is used and home key should..

Post by EvilBMP »

Selection changes, if home key is used and home key should go to first non-space char.
But this behaviour only appears if you already have selected some chars or lines with the cursor keys and then want to use the home key to complete the selection. Then the already selected chars or lines are unselected again and only the chars or lines from the position of the cursor to the first non-spaced char are selected.

This feature/bug doesn't appear if you don't you the feature "HOME key goes to first non-space char".

Well ok, i try to explain a bit more in detail ... hopefully this will help :)

Let's imagine a code block ...

Image

The red bar is the cursor ... now I start to mark the codeblock via Shift + Cursor Up key - and now it looks like this...

Image

Now, I want to select the whole line and I don't want to do this with the Cursor Left key letter by letter - I want to do this fast and that's why I use now Shift + HOME key. And now it looks like this...

Image

The fact is, that the "old" selection is deselected and a new selection is made. But that's not what I want. This only happens if you use the option "HOME key goes to first non-space char".

Image

If you don't use this option, the "old" selection isn't deselected ... but without this option the cursor then jumps to the beginning of the line ... and not to the first non-space char.

Image

So what I want is, that the old selection will not be killed if I use the feature option with the home key ... and the final selection should look like this...

Image

I hope, that now everything is clear - Greets Evil 8)
