Chatacter Entity Conversions

Hi -

I'm evaluating HTML Pad and like it quite a bit. But, I seem to have problems consistantly doing Character Entity conversions such as the apostrophe to '

It seems like sometimes the program does it when I run a task and other times it doesn't. I can't seem to figure out a pattern. I've checked my Tidy Tasks and have the following set:

Default: Convert to XHTML

within that task, I have checked:
quote-ampersand
quote-marks
quote-nbsp

Any ideas what might be going on or what I might be doing wrong?

HTML Tidy is a third party product (software from other developers) which is simply integrated and shipped together with HTMLPad. Unfortunately I can not give official answer to your question.

As I tested this, it seems that following options must be enabled (checked):

output-xhtml
quote-ampersand
quote-marks
quote-nbsp

When these options are enabled then the Tidy seems to convert ' to ' which is what you need.

Thanks for the clarification. I've double-checked my Tidy tasks and had those options. I was mistaken in thinking you controlled that part of the program. I'll see what I can find out from them. Like I said, sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

Well, it should wor all the time. Send me the file it does not work on and I'll try to see what is wrong.
