Opening Saved Projects

Post by Richard »

Hello Karlis..
I have WeBuilder 7.4.0.70.
I can not get it to open Projects previously saved. All it does is open the previously open "project" whether I select another from the Project menu..
Does not matter whether I restart the programme either

Help

Thanks

To be true, I have no idea what could it be. What is your environment? Can you see your other projects at all?

Thanks for swift reply.
Running Windows XP SP2 on iMac with Bootcamp.
I can see all my projects under the Projects Menu, select them so that the name appears in the status bar but still the File Open Dialog stubbornly opens the last open folder, whatever that was.
Changing Options/Preferences/General On startup to different options makes no difference to this behaviour.
Perhaps I need a newer version..
Please email link as appropriate for me to try

Thanks

I don't think the 'file>open' functionality is tied to your current project. Instead, it always defaults to the last opened folder. it might be cool to have an option to default to the current projects root folder but I really appreciate it defaulting to the last folder I used more often than not. normally if I want to open files within a given project, I use the file explorer. I'm generally using 'file>open' to bring in things from outside the project and they're often in the same folder.

Yeeesss... errr... So why have an option to select Projects under the Menu, if that does NOT become the Project (root directory and all) when one clicks on open??
What is the functionality of that particular selection??
Looks like it is there for later coding..

Projects are for:
1) Having your project file tree listed in File Explorer (sidebar)
2) Allowing one-click file FTP upload to server
3) Allowing quick searches through project files

Open/Save dialogs are currently not tied to Projects features, though such idea is floating somewhere around.

Hello Karlis..
Thanks again for the explanation.. I always work in Compact View so the File Explorer view turned Off.. That is why the specific functionality was not obvious to me... Think automatic selection of the Root Directory in Open Dialog is a given though..
Could you also send a link to upgrade to 2007?
Thanks again.
