Convert Text to Tables

Post by theghost »

I hope I can explain this right. What would be really nice is the ability to convert text into tables; a lot like you can with bullet lists.

When you highlight the text, and there are tabs in place you can hit a button to convert that text so it would put a full table with rows and cells for each line.

I used a program call ACEHtml (before the switch to WeBuilder) and they had that option, it really makes it easy when you do a lot of copy/paste out of word/excel where there are tabs for each column. I just hit a button and bam, everything is in a table.

I hope this made since, and thanks for a great editor.

it would really be great. at work, we all have that big bloated over priced web development software that most of the world seems to use preinstalled (no names!). I never ever open it, except when a client gives me a big table in excel/word. I select it in excel, paste it into that, ahem, other software's design view, grab the source and go back to webuilder. I could slag that other software all day long but it does an excellent job at converting tables. Hand coding massive tables is not something I call fun.
