FTP Error: Access denied

Post by Mountainbird »

Hello,

I made a fresh installation of WeBuilder 2007 8.2.0.79.

Then I was trying to upload via FTP but I always get the error "FTP Error: Access denied".

I'm using a firewall (Kaspersky Internet Security 7) and a proxy server.

Every other FTP program (like WS FTP) and many other Web Builder software has no problems with FTP connection.

I checked the settings many times.

Any help?

Sounds like a ftp error message received from another server, not an WB error.

Did you try to actually upload files on the same ftp location with other clients?

Does WB ftp normally connect to that site?

I don't think so. The error message appears immediately after trying to connect. There is no time to get this message from another server.

Yes, I did. No problem.

What do you mean by "normally"?

From the very first beginning after installation I get always the error "FTP Error: Access denied". I did never get any connection by WB.

it was this:

that led me to believe, you were actually already connected, but get the error after trying to upload the file.

I'm not sure, but check Kaspersky's settings and see if there is a exception list for applications that connect to the internet, then add WB with port 21 outgoing.

If nothing works, try and selectively close down FW apps, until you can connect. That way you should know where's the problem.

Have you another FTP account you can connect to?

Shout if that works.

I've tried that in WeBuilder 7.2 (so an older version) and it works fine. I'll try downloading the demo of 8.whatever_it_is and try in there too.
