Does anyone know how to get this to work with Lotus Notes? I can't get the right settings in the exceptions tab. Do these take effect immediately after clicking 'OK'?

You just need to find the right EXE file. Sometimes one program uses multiple EXE (program) files, thus you must be very careful and know your system well.
Probably you should contact the Lotus Notes vendor for information on which files need to connect to the Internet.
Changes in the Settings window should take effect immediately.
