Version 2005 planned for April
HTMLPad 2005, Rapid CSS 2005, Rapid PHP 2005 are currently on the way. Estimated final version release time - March / April.
Now it is the best time for last-minute feature suggestions and ideas.

Request: You asked for it ;)
What I really miss, but then maybe I overlooked something, is a way to switch between the editinging tab and the previewtab.
It would be so nice if there wa a keyboard shortcut that toggled these views.

Hello Karlis,
I've discovered your "perfect" products last Saturday (Feb 26th 2005) seeking for some PHP source code in GOOGLE. My key was:
"CSS Editor PHP source"
This question string took me in the "Rapid PHP 2004" web page.
My intentions are quite different from what I found in your web site, but I was honestly impressed of the things I found here.
Anyway, I have downloaded the "Rapid PHP 2004" and the "Easy GIF Animator 2.12" evaluation, and I really like both of them.
I'm a C++ Windows developer and I'm moving to PHP. My favourite developing tool is "Visual Studio 6" and I use the "BCG" library too.
Looking well the "Rapid PHP 2004", I had the impression that you use my same tools for these reasons: the product design, and the product architecture. Maybe it's not true, but your product are what I would like to use in the imminent future.
I'm sorry if I spent a lot of words here, but I think you will like them.
Yesterday I've decided to buy the "Rapid PHP 2004", but here in the forum I saw your announce of the "Rapid PHP 2005", so I will wait a bit.
In the middle time I have bought the "Easy GIF Animator 3" even because you have impressed me with the update posted the 28th and that I have discovered only yesterday.
Ok, lets come to my suggestions related to what I would like in the "Rapid PHP 2005":

Ok, lets come to my suggestions related to what I would like in the "Rapid PHP 2005":
- open multiply files at the same time in the ā€open dialog”, especially via FTP
- export and import ā€code Snippets” in the library and the edit (I’ll love to share them with other people)
- can invoke the ā€find window” with the ALT-F3 key (as in ā€Visual Studio 6”)
- can open a file directly from editor cursor over the include(ā€filename”) or request(ā€filename”) with a context menu (as in ā€Visual Studio 6”)
- can browse the FTP folder as you permit with the ā€file explorer TAB”

Very good. Although we are trying really hard it seems that version 2005 will only come out in April.
You can use Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown to navigate through documents, you can change this in the Keyboard Shortcuts window.
About Andy's suggestions:
* open multiple files from FTP will be in 2005
* export and import ā€code Snippets” - at the present moment whole library can be copied by copying library.xml file, but I will think about this as time permits
* all keyboard shortcuts are customizable via Options menu
* can open a file directly from editor cursor over the include(ā€filename”) or request(ā€filename”) <- this is a good one, will add to list.
* FTP explorer sidebar will be in 2005
Please drop me a line at support@blumentals.net and I'll tell you more about the development of these products and also my PHP experience (I have coded PHP for years).

Ok, I wont wait the 2005 version then...admin wrote:Very good. Although we are trying really hard it seems that version 2005 will only come out in April.

As Soon As Possible, thank you for the attention.admin wrote:You can use Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown to navigate through documents, you can change this in the Keyboard Shortcuts window./quote]
This remembers me Codejock... found!! Great!!
The same idea is valid for local files too.admin wrote:* open multiple files from FTP will be in 2005
It could be interesting to develop this in a different direction... Something downodable from this web site to extend/expand directly the Rapid product series.admin wrote:* export and import "code Snippets" - at the present moment whole library can be copied by copying library.xml file, but I will think about this as time permits
Ok, I'll get the official Rapid PHP soon, the important for me now is to know that if I work on the snippets, I wont loose them upgrading to the 2005 version.
This is quite important to extend the software and work thinking of the full PHP project, instead of the single PHP file.admin wrote:* can open a file directly from editor cursor over the include(ā€filename”) or request(ā€filename”) <- this is a good one, will add to list.
For sample, DW and FP have a "tree link view" thats shows the web site map dynamically.
You will hate me for this idea: open the "Easy GIF Animator" (or other configured image editors), over the:

Automatic Update Feature
Hello,
I have a registered version of Rapid PHP 2004. When I click "Help" -> "Click for new version", a message box pops up, saying:
"HTMLPad failed to get the information. Would you like to visit HTMLPad website?".

I know that Rapid PHP grew out of HTMLPad, but it would be nicer if the correct program-name were used in the message box, and if there was a notification like "You have the newest version".
Could it be that it has been forgotten to make HTMLPad's updater suitable for Rapid PHP?

ON ERROR GOTO BED
A suggestion I made some time ago, but received no reply ...
For HTML Pad Pro ...
In the preview mode, it would be nice if the link you mouse over shows in the hot-tips bar at the bottom.
Essentially, when you select Preview (as opposed to code editor), it would be nice to see the links that you have, just like a regular browser would show. This of course, would be when you do a mouseover.
Thanks!

I was wondering if there was a time frame in april that htmlpad pro 2005 would be released?

The present situation. Current version 6.0
* We have a test version ready (almost)
* Three major features must be added and few last fixes made
* Docummentation must be updated/written
* Setup packages must be created and released
* Tests and fixes for the initial Beta version must be made
===
I would say, some 10 - 15 more days (if we are lucky)
We are working at our max performance I hope this will be the greatest release ever. After release we are going to continue adding features and fixing found bugs, it was not possible to include all suggestions in 6.0, so 6.1 will be even better.

Re: Version 2005 planned for April
An feature you can add (and I will appreciate) is the "ASP like tags" support. Now I can't highlight php code into the tags <% %>, these are the PHP tags that I use in my work.admin wrote:HTMLPad 2005, Rapid CSS 2005, Rapid PHP 2005 are currently on the way.
