WeBuilder 2008 - 9.1 (9.1.0.98) (Vista 64bit - 8Gb DDR3)
Hallo, I found this behavior while browsing FTP site with FTP browser on the panel.
BUG 1:
Situation: When I browse some directory then if u connect again FTP browser gets into this last opened dir. But when this dir gets deleted from FTP server than FTP browser shows u error and u cant connect to that site again with it and throws "FTP Error: No such file or directory". U can only delete this FTP site (from WB) or create this directory again with another FTP browser (I use Cute FTP Pro).
BUG 2:
Situation: When FTP browser or FTP uploader (when using upload file) throws an error they do not disconect from FTP site. So when browsing to limitedFTP-connection-server. U really quick get out of free slots. I never got this BUG in 9.1.0.97 version (but may be I didnt noticed only). Some graceful FTP diconecting (like quit) wil be great.

Idea: If it will be possible, to use the same opened FTP thread for FTP browsing and Uploading files it will be good too. For example if I browse FTP and then upolad file, it will open another FTP thread - using the one previously opened will speed up the uploading files. Together with some "KEEP ALIVE IN ?? seconds" will be good. If u are debugging code and uploading 10 times in minute. One connecting to some FTP sites gets the 80% of time needed for uploading one PHP file.

Hi.
@BUG 1: You don't have to delete the Ftp site! Reset the directory in the FTP Site Properties dialog (5th icon on top of the Browse FTP dialog) after deactivating "Remeber Last Directory".
@BUG 2: I had the same problem but without getting errors messages...
Regards,
svebor

YEAP u are right. And it is rare problem, so thats OK, but I think that some control over the existing dir will be helpful in future releases.
For example to use ROOT dit in FTP settings separatly from INITIAL dir. with REMEMBER option. And if remebered dir. doesnt exist use of ROOT will be very helpfull.

Every problem has its solution! But sometimes we can't find it!

+1 for that - had the same problem a few mins ago ... i think this doesn't happen very often, but would be nice to have fallbackSilverHand wrote:For example to use ROOT dit in FTP settings separatly from INITIAL dir. with REMEMBER option. Another thing, that really bugs happens after a connection time out. You still see the last folder and think you can navigate arround, but nothing happens ... just "busy"! Even the "Disconnect" button doesn't work in such a situation. You have to doubleclick at the ".."-dir, so that you get the alert message "FTP connection gracefully closed.." (or something like that). After that you can reconnect again! This really sucks, if you drop files into the current open dir via drag'n'drop from an explorer window!
Is it possible for the next versions, to avoid those alert messages and just reconnect, if the connection is already broken after a time out?! In short, check the ftp connection state before navigate through the folder tree.
Ok, and my greatest wish - please store files, which are opened via ftp in the background with a separate process - so that WeBuilder doesn't hang up, if something is wrong with the ftp connection!
AAhh, and something else ... it shouldn't be possible to open a file more than ones, even via ftp.
Thx, EvilBMP

Bug 1 will be fixed in one of the next updates, the second one is not as easy (we can not reproduce it yet) and we may need more time.
