Autosave function

Post by llsastre »

I've read a suggestion for rapidphp in http://forums.blumentals.net/viewtopic. ... ckup#p3074
Is it implemented on rapidPHP2008 version? If it's, where does it activate?
Thanks.

There is no autosave feature yet, and there is no time-frame for such a feature.

Yes, at the present moment there is no autosave, unfortunately. Not sure how many of our users essentially need this.

Autosave, what for? Just hit Ctrl+S every other time you make any changes. As I said before somewhere I got used to this after working with another editor that has some, shall we say, stability issues. It only takes 1 second and it is well worth getting into the habit; autosave might save every ten minutes or so, but 10 minutes is a long time coding. If you save every few seconds then if the software crashes there will be no real data loss to speak of.

There are other features with a higher priority than this I think.

autosave.... Mmh... Yes its more a must have for a not very stable application ;)

Better is something like a total recall if you close the application and reopen it and you will have the last project/file, workset etc. loaded, so you can continue with your work at the same place. But at this time there are IMHO other important needed implementations like a full working remote debugging for PHP or a correct implemented parser for the code explorer for Javascript.
