Webuilder working well under WinE

Post by wedb »

Hi everybody
I am 99% over switching to Ubuntu 8.10, I find it quite good and it does what I need reliably.
One thing I still do in my almost obsolete Windows machine is using Webuilder to edit my web, there are other options under Linux (ranging from general purpose editors to more dedicated ones) but I am used to Webuilder...
Today I gave a run at installing webuilder using WinE and it starts but it spew quite a few error messages on the WinE console.

The question: Can WinE be fully supported ?
It is very easy to test under Ubuntu, just install wine from add/remove programs and use it by executing
$ wine webuilder_install.exe

Thanks for the great work !

I think that Karlis stays on the Win platform. Wine is great, but not so nice for work and may crash sometimes very nasty.

See my post about how I work on Linux and RapidPHP for 10 months already here: http://forums.blumentals.net/viewtopic. ... 57&p=17060
I hated all the crashes, instability of Windows - so I found a solution. Now I can work, backup, use Linux Apache server, GIT and all the nice stuff of Linux and RapidPHP together easily.

And BTW: Virtualbox has a seamless mode, presented on the picture there :)
