my preview worked perfectly when my apache server used port 80.
But when I reconfigured apache to use port 8080 instead I cannot
get the external preview to use localhost:8080 INSTEAD of the
former localhost only.
i am NEW to apache. How do I get rapidphp to use localhost:8080
for the preview.
the documentation i've read is very unclear on this subject.

Re: external browser preview in localhost:8080
Options - Preferences - Preview - Script Preview - Web Server Settings (if you use built-in web server) allows you to change port for internal web server.
BUT if you use external web server, e.g. Apache and want to use custom port, you MUST use appropriate mappings. So you must change localhost to localhost:8080.
http://localhost/ will no more be valid for obvious reasons (neither will it work in a web browser). If you use any other port than 80, you must append that port to the domain / host name, so for localhost, you would have to use http://localhost:8080/ This is not our invention. It is a common concept in networking.

Re: external browser preview in localhost:8080
I have tried that but I think the port is fixed to 80 only. I have tried to change it and doesn’t work the way I wanted to. So I returned I to 80, but someone told me that changing the port to 8080 and reinstalling the apache may work.
Re: external browser preview in localhost:8080
I recently experienced the same problem with easyphp whose default port is 8888. It didn't work either.
