VMWare View 4.0

Post by joshk99 »

We are converting over from Citrix to View but we are running into an issue with our Corp SS that it will basicly jump the CPU to max whenever it kicks off on the virtual Desktops. I did test enabled #D support (Not Supported) and it helped but CPU still jumps sitting idle at like 27 to 1180ish mhz. Since not supported we of course don't have to have to run it and with several hundred VDIs the CPU jump is also not practical. Thanks

While we have not tested screensavers for compatibility with all virtual machines as this usage scenario us not very likely, we have tried our screensavers with VMWare Workstation 6.5 both with 3D and without 3D support without any problems.

Here is what you could try:
1) Enable 3D acceleration on your virtual machine
2) If that does not work, disable constant movement effects (slide/zoom and rotate/zoom)
3) If that does not work, disable all transition effects
4) If that does not work, send us your screensaver, maybe our developers can help
