Macros

Post by mapleleaf »

This is a great product without question and after evaluating it, a purchase of WeBuilder was made.

I am eagerly awaiting for/in WeBuilder the support for html5.

I also hope that the feature of having 'macros' be highly considered as this certainly become in highly useful when editing/making changes of a large web site with multiple pages that require the same change.

Hence, I would like to suggest and I am sure that it has been made previously that Macros be implemented say the ability to have 4-5 macros be stored that can be used while updating/upgrading/modifying multiple pages with the identical information. cut&paste isn't IMHO the way to go BUT until the ability for macros is made available then that is, at the moment, the way it is.

Hi,

Thank you for choosing our product.
As for HTML 5, it will surely come with WeBuilder 2011 (and also other editor editions we offer).

Besides, most likely there will be also a Macros recording / playing feature added. Currently there is some part implemented already. If no major problems arise, this feature will be available in 2-3 months when the version 2011 will be released.
However, most likely at the begging it will not be possible to save more than one Macro (this might come later if we see there is demand for it and we can actually implement it).
Kind regards,

Good news about macros, but I see little point if you can only save one.

Hi Mikey,

I wonder why would you need to save more than one Macro on regular basis?
I do not have much experience on a daily basis in web development, so I might be missing something.
Also, would you need to save the Macros during one session, or do you need them to be available also after restart?
Kind regards,

I would recommend the ability to have 3 macros saved.

This of course would depend on the application but generally for html, JavaScript and CSS by virtue that at least 2 of the 3 are used in the development of web sites. Perhaps even 4 macros to include php.

I do agree that having the ability to save one macro is although helpful but in essence useless.

In my other editors I have macros saved that do various little tasks, a bit more than the snippets can do, a lot seem to involve find & replace!
Edit plus for example can save 10 on a permanent basis.

+1 for macros.
One macro would be a little less. Imagine you have one you often use for manipulating files and then you suddenly have to do something else with macros. 3 would be perfect (Why would you limit the number of macros?!).
