[Rapid PHP, CSS] Another one idea ( hex color hint )

Post by deleon »

Hello,

I constantly have the next inconvenience:
I want to see the real colors of their hex values and I want to suggest, if possible, the following implementation:

Image

Pressing the button you can execute color dialog and change color.

It is possible or not?

I would prefer a little box appearing while hovering over the hex-value.

We are thinking about a way of improving functionality in this area. One idea was to show a small color box once a mouse is moved over a color code.
Although, in my personal view, this would be a better way (not sure if doable, though).
So, this is noted and we hope will be implemented one day.

why not do it like they do in Adobe Flash or similarly? Where you not only have a box appear to select your color but also allow you to enter the hexadecimal code for the color.

While we are on color (Photometric) here is a couple of links that will be useful when selecting colors, their contrast factor and also important colors to be used that do not affect those that suffer from color blindness. It is for this reason that I keep the colors of red and green to almost nil has they are the most common form of color blindness whereas blue is a lessor known color blindness thus I'd choose blue over red/green

Here are some links that will be very useful to have in one's repertoire.

have fun and enjoy

1. hexadecimal color codes
http://www.december.com/html/spec/color3.html

2. color schemer << my favorite as it gives you examples of light color html page and dark color html page
http://colorschemedesigner.com/
doesnt work in IE works in FF

3. color rotator << an excellent source for color variations that may be used
http://www.colorotate.org/

4. ever wanted to know the hexadecimal code for a color that you see on a web site?
this is one that I have used for many years, give you hexadecimal codes, rba code
search for ColorMania on Google it is a freeware

In having all of the four above in your repertoire it will go a long ways in one's Photometric ability.

I recommend having all four of them
