what are the functions of the built in File Explorer eg. in HTMLpad and what is it usefull for?
I understand that the Project functions keeps track of the files and folder of my website to provide features when uploading the project to a webhost. But I don't see a special value of the File Explorer, maybe I am wrong?
I'm asking this because my students sometimes are confused when writing HTML pages and having the FileExplorer window open in a panel. Compared to the Windows Explorer they don't have all the information (eg server) in their view and often mix-up folders with the same name copied from one drive to another (eg. K: to C:).

Re: functions of File Explorer?
Hi,
This is from the Help file:
a) use the Windows Shell menu for the standard shell menu;
b) use the built-in menu with different other options (insert file contents, or link of the file, etc.)
I think it is question of a preference. Some people like it when the file explorer is merged into development environment, some do not.
If somebody is heavily using some other tools for managing files on his computer (like Total Comander, Windows Explorer, etc.) then the built-in Explorer might not be very useful.
Kind regards,
Gatis
This is from the Help file:
The File Explorer allows you to right-click an item in it and then :File Explorer allows to browse files and folders, just like in Windows Explorer.
To enable File Explorer, on the View menu click File Explorer.
File Explorer provides three diferent modes - Project, Folders and FTP. You can switch File Explorer modes using buttons at the bottom of File Explorer panel.
The following topics provide more information:
Project mode for browsing project files
Folders mode for browsing local files
FTP mode for browsing FTP
