WeBuilder 2014 Beta: Support for microdata atts itemtype etc

Post by DrGarry »

Hi there:

Loving the WeBuilder 2014 beta so far. I'm not sure if this is a bug with WeBuilder per se or a problem with the new HTMLTidy for HTML 5, which of course is beyond the control of WeBuilder.

I've been experimenting with microdata attributes (itemtype, itemscope, itemprop), which I am led to understand can be used with any HTML 5 tag, pretty much. So far I am using them in div, span and a tags. My pages all use the HTML 5 doctype "<!DOCTYPE HTML>".

My HTML Tidy output in WeBuilder says that "Document content looks like HTML 5". But it flags all my lines that use one of the above attributes as "Warning- proprietary attribute".

Is there some setting I should be making to remove these annoying warnings? Is this an issue with WeB or Tidy?

It's done by Tidy-html5. As far as I can figure out, someone has made a fix and has submitted it for review 5 months ago but it hasn't been merged in yet. I think it's because Microdata standard is still a work in progress.
