Preview of .php file not showing changes made to .css file

Post by blueandwhite »

When I make adjustments to my style.css file, these changes DO NOT show up in the preview window of the php document I am working with.
It seems only natural that changes to the associated (linked) .css file will show up in the php file.
But, so far it does not happen at all :(

Do these changes appear when you refresh the preview?

Okay, it seems that if you save the .css file after making changes, then return to .html file, the changes will show up in the preview window, at least within a very brief delay, which is okay behavior.

If I change the extension from .html to .php (which is necessary as I use php include statements here) it seems to be working also. The difference here is that the preview window will not refresh automatically when I return to it.

This is not too bad, at least it is mostly working now. I am having much better luck with it today

Btw, one other thing I notice is that sometimes the cursor disappears in the editing window and I have to restart the program to get it back. Just wanted to let you know about this also.

Also, sometimes the preview window (at least with .php file) will see the actual code in place of preview, or in some cases the page but without markup.

If I upgrade (apparently at full purchase price?), what improvements if any may I see with respect to preview feature?

Thanks

Are you currently using WeBuilder 2011? The disappearing cursor bug sounds suspiciously like 2011 :) In 2014 the bug is fixed, also you will have built-in Chrome preview to go along with IE. You can see the list here. scroll down to "Improved Preview": http://www.webuilderapp.com/whatsnew.php

It seems to me that upgrade prices are lower than full prices: http://www.webuilderapp.com/buy.php
