I think he's planning to make the settings in the search 'sticky' so that when you click 'entire scope' once, it'll always to 'entire scope'. wrap would be cool but sticky would be better for me.

Making the "entire scope" setting sticky would help but when I start searching, I want it to search from the point I am at and go up or down from there, not jump to the beginning of the file. I work with code modules that could have hundreds of instances of the item I'm looking for before the current insert point and I don't want to go through all of those before getting back to the point where I started the search.

I'm confused :?

First, I would not like to make entire scope sticky, because as ecarlson66 said, it could cause inconveniences.

Now I can not understand what do you mean by "from the top of the file" :?:

I hope you will make it sticky, at least as an option. If you use it a lot, it's just as inconvenient to turn it on each time. Sorry to presume you were going to make it sticky but it seemed like you were headed that direction after this thread.

I think "from the top of the file" is just part two of the subject of the thread: "Search function needs a "wrap" option to continue"... "from the top of the file".

I'd agree, that wrapping would be preferable to an 'entire scope' sticky but if that's a lot of work, an option to have the search dialog settings sticky would be great for me.
