Flash problems

How come when I load up certain .swf files and go to preview, it's just a solid white screen with black borders? Some of them work great, don't get me wrong, but a lot of them just come out wrong and there's no flash going on. Any ideas or suggestions?

Please make sure that these swfs do not use special features that require flash player updates or special new player versions. Of course they should run just fine if such player versions are installed already.

In most cases this problem can be solved by changing swf output settings when generating the flash movie.
