Post by Mike77 »

It would be nice if the ftp-connections could be ordered by name, now i got some problems to find them under all that connections :)

Thank you

I have about 15 in WebBuilder and 40-50 in FileZilla. Every client has an FTP connection and I'm not keen on deleting them cause I'm too lazy to make it again if they need an update. Add to that that I use my own domain for testing (client.mydomain.com) and it get's outta hand quickly. I actually use my root domain only now in webuilders ftp and then navigate to the appropriate domain from there cause it was outta hand.

I'm assuming most other developers have a similar setup?

Another great way is to implement the possibility to re-order them by using CTRL+UP or CTRL+DOWN.

This is more useful as alphabetical ordering as you're going to have sites that have different names but might rely to the same project/site/whatever.

Added to wishlist. Hopefully I will manage this in early releases of 2006.

any way to add a 'copy connection' to the wishlist? I dunno how universally useful it would be but for folks who test on subdomains.mydomain.com or who develop sites _and_ sell hosting on their server, the FTP information is all the same except for the local and remote directories.

god I'm lazy. 2007 perhaps... :)

Now that I looked at it more carefully, it appears that FTP connections are sorted by name alredy (each time the program is launched). So I'm currently not very keen on adding more code (read - weight and memory usage) to improve this.

The copy feature sounds interesting. I would propose vitong - everybody who really needs this, please cast your votes here
