WeBuilder fix requests

This is a great product. Keep up the excellent work.
1. If I select XHTML as preferred markup under Options>Preferences the left hand markup pane does not change from HTML 4.01. If I select XHTML on the markup pane it changes back to HTML 4.01 as soon as I blink.
2. End brace not correctly closed (> instread of /> for meta, link, img, area, base, frame, input (and probably other tags that don't need an end tag) when entered from the left side markup pane.
3. Insert>Hyperlink window gives little or no visibility in the type selection pane without scrolling. Window is not resizable to fix this.
4. It would be nice to get word wrap on/off onto one of the toolbars and have a keyboard shortcut but I haven't been able to work out how to do either of these.
Regards
Graham

Options>Keyboard Shortcuts>about halfway down the list near 'highlight URLS and Auto Spell Check' is word wrap. you can assign a shortcut there.Graham wrote: 4. to add it to a menu, right click on the toolbars and select customize. Click on the Commands tab. Click on 'options' in the left box. You'll see word wrap on the right side. Drag it from that window to any position on the toolbar you like.
I'm having troubles with 1 and 2 working consistently as well. Options>Preferences>Language Options>Use Doctype to switch... this makes a difference.
Good luck.

Here are answers to unanswered items...
1. Make your default templeate an XHTML. It switches to HTML automatically because there is HTML 4.01 doctype header.
2. If your document carries XHTML doctype, the tag end is created correctly. Please make sure you have written corect XHTML document header.
3. Please send a screenshot. It seems that you are not using normal Font size for screen settings, but I am not sure.
Thanks!

Karlis, my default doctype is strict, copied directly from the w3c (and validates fine) but when I drag an image in from the project/files pane, it still inserts with border="0">
I'm in 6.3. In preferences I have XHTML 1.0 as my language spec and "Use Doctype to switch spec whenever possible" checked.
Seems like I'm missing something.
Thanks,
Will

Windows Display Properties Appearance Font Size is set to normal. Windows Display Properties Settings Advanced DPI setting is set to 120 (125% normal size). (I have a small Dell screen with 1600x1200 pixels resolution and less than 125% gives font size too small.) If I adjust either of these settings there is not much change from the screen shot below:

2. Indeed, although it works properly in all other places, in that particular Markup pane there is a problem which will be fixed in the upcoming release.
4. In version 2006 I will make this particular window not to take into account your specific font settings, thus it will look the same on all systems.

I have just installed WeBuilder 2006 and 2 of the above issues are still apparent.
1. XHTML markup keeps swicthing back to HTML 4.1 despite having what I think are all the right settings including DOCTYPE switching.
4. Insert hyperlink window is still not fixed. I posted it for a week or two and then removed it but here it is again. (Not a big issue, really.)

Number 4. is assigned low priority because the odds are it happens on one PC out of hundred and is not critical, will fix after more important things are done.
I still can not reproduce number 1, as it seems to work just fine. Try to disable automatic Doctype detection in settings, probably that could clarify something.

re: dragging images from the file explorer, in 2006 it 'closes' the img tag properly like with (space) /> but it's still adding border="0" instead of alt, something actually required in strict.
my settings are the same as my previous post and I've tried turning on and off 'auto switch with doc type'.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Will

Hi Graham.
I don't really use that panel so I'd never run into that problem. I tried it out and all is as you describe except when I turned off 'Use Doctype to Switch', the Markup panel came up as XHTML 1.0. Then, I manually set the panel to HTML 4 and set the Use Doctype to Switch to 'on' again and it still automatically switched back to XHTML 1.0 as soon as I hit apply, presumably because my doctype was set as strict.
Seems like there's some other problem.
