Current "HTML>Character>Special Character..." is limited. Something like this [image omitted] would be useful and will certainly add power:
Make that +2 . . . especially if it also allows users to add to the table.
On a more general note, one of the things I very much miss (WB 10.1 under Windows XP/SP2) is the ability to add items to already existing elements/components. For example, I suspect many of us would appreciate the ability to add characters to the Special Character grid which are
not currently included. By way of example -- “ and ” -- which are not in the current grid.
Pursuing that thought just a bit further. How about giving users the ability to create and add their own snippets AS BUTTONS ON A TOOLBAR. We can currently create our own toolbars. Why not give us the ability to add our own button-snippets instead of using the Library? Buttons on a toolbar take up much less space then does opening a vertical Library window which takes up a lot of real estate.
Using an example from another thread, there is no DIV button. But if users had the ability to create their own buttons and put them on a toolbar (including the ability to create their own icons to go along with those snippets) it would very much add to WeBuilder's versatility.
Also, the more the user has options to turn things on and off to his choosing (customize), the more desirable, and hence more marketable, WeBuilder becomes. For example, ctrl-RightArrow moves the cursor from the current position to the
end of each word. Yet if I use ctrl-RightArrow here in this editor, I move to the
beginning of each word. How about giving the user
the option to move to the beginning of each word (including "<" as a beginning position?
Ok, I'll be quiet now
