well, as of now you can copy and paste into a snippet - but if i hear what you're saying, you'd like a context menu (right click) item that allows you to enter the selected code directly into a 'new snippet' dialog. maybe it would say "add selection to library" or "create snippet from selected text"?

in this area i'd love a simple count of how many characters are currently in the selected block.
